Unfortunately,
we do not allow prospective clients to come see us at a live
performance. There are several reasons for this, and I hope that
you'll indulge me as I explain them to you.
My
number one priority at each performance is taking care of my client.
They're paying me good money to perform at their event. I don't
believe that it's appropriate for me to invite prospective clients to "drop
by" to
watch me work. Would you
want me to invite strangers to
come to your event?.
My
attention is directed towards showing my clients a good time, so I
really don't have time to speak with or answer questions from
prospective clients. Would you
allow me to take the time to sell my services to prospective clients
at your event?
Since
we do not take a
"one size fits all"
approach to performing, it becomes very difficult to schedule live
viewings. EVERY PARTY IS DIFFERENT!
The type of entertainment we provide is unique and varies from night
to night, dependant on each client's musical tastes. What we may play
on any given night may not be what you
want at your
party, but it
is what that particular client wanted played at their party. Get
it?
Let
me tell you about an experience where prospective clients wanted to
come to see me perform live. I indulged them, and told them when and
where my next event was being held (it
was a Saturday night affair, starting at 8:00 pm).
Anyway, I was busy doing my thing didn't see them at all during the
party. I assumed they didn't show up. When I called the client the
next day to follow up, they informed me that they had indeed stopped
by and watched for about 20 minutes. The client told me they were
dissappointed in what they saw and would not
hire me for their event. I asked them to be more specific, they
explained that when they looked into the room, nobody was dancing,
and they didn't see the DJ (me)
doing anything to try to get the guests up and out of their seats.
With the events of the previous evening (a
great party!)
still fresh in my mind (and
thinking that these people were insane!),
I asked the client if they remembered what time they stopped by.
They said it was about 9:30 pm. It was then that I realized that
these people came while the main course was being served! Of course
nobody was dancing--they were all eating their dinner!!
The
best way for a prospective client to see what we do is to schedule
an appointment to meet with me at my office/showroom. I can show you
video tapes that will give you a true representation of what we do,
how we look and sound, the way we handle protocol ceremonies, and
answer all of your questions in a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere. |
